Quality Management of Training

The quality of a company's human capital is quintessential to ensure long term competitive advantage and survival in today's global economy. In a knowledge based economy, training is “mission critical” to develop and maintain high levels of human capital.
Training needs to be managed carefully like any other major investment. ISO 10015 offers a new and specific quality management tool to ensure the link between training and organisational performance needs. Supported by a ISO 10015 certification, managers are better guided in making strategic decisions about human capital investment that will have direct impact on bottom-line performance.

Strategic investment in people through effective training: Why CEO should care?

Radio show

Dr Lichia Yiu and Dr Raymond Saner, Partners of Organisational Consultants Ltd, HK, were interviewed by Daniel Moorjani for the inaugural show of the dBay Radio. The topic of the discussion was “Strategic investment in people through effective training: Why CEO should care “. It was first broadcasted on dBay radio, 1st March 2011.

Synopsis of the talk

Organsations (public or private sector) need to think strategically when investing in their people through training. In contrast to purchases of e.g information technology or buildings, enterprises often do not assess their purchasing process of training and often do not look at what their employees need in terms of acquisition of new skills and knowledge. Without systematic assessment and management of training, organizations’ investment in training can result in a waste of financial resources and a missed opportunity to ensure future competitivity of their organization.
